Milan, October 30 (LaPresse/AP) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his first public comment today, published a post on X stating that “forming a government with them is forbidden”, referring to the Arab parties. His remarks came after Israel’s Central Elections Committee released the final results of the October 27 elections, showing that Netanyahu’s bloc had lost its parliamentary majority, securing 53 seats, while the opposition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot won 48 seats. Arab-led parties secured the remaining 19 seats, marking a historic result. At this point, weeks of difficult negotiations are expected between parties with very different positions, ranging from ultra-Orthodox Jewish parties to secular parties and Arab-led parties. The parties will have to meet, negotiate and seek a way to form an alliance and govern, securing at least 61 seats in the Knesset, which has a total of 120 seats.
