Milan, 18 Oct. (LaPresse/AP) – The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhii Tykhyi, apologised today in a statement after a drone entered Lithuanian airspace, prompting the authorities to issue an air raid alert. Tykhyi stated that the incident may have been caused by Russia electronically diverting the drones during an operation against military targets in Russia. According to reports by the public broadcaster LRT, the Lithuanian authorities warned residents of two northern counties along the border with Latvia to take shelter due to a possible drone incursion in the early hours of Sunday. A drone entered the northern Lithuanian region of Pasvalys, damaging a moving car, the broadcaster reported, citing the Lithuanian National Crisis Management Centre. No injuries were reported.
