Seoul (South Korea), 17 Oct. (LaPresse) – North Korea claims to have successfully tested a new torpedo system that uses artificial intelligence for target detection and guidance. The Korean Central News Agency stated that the weapon tested on Thursday is a “super-fast and precision-guided” torpedo system called Zam-2.0. It did not explain what is meant by artificial intelligence. However, it added that the test verified the weapon’s propulsion systems, which have been developed through more than 180 tests over the past five years. The South Korean military, which often accuses the North of exaggerating its military capabilities, has not commented on the KCNA report.
