(LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to meet US President Donald Trump around 20 September to discuss the supply of missiles to counter ballistic threats. He made the comments today whilst answering questions from journalists, as reported by the Ukrainian media. “I expect to meet President Trump around 20 September, raise this issue and, God willing, achieve a result,” said Zelensky. The Ukrainian president explained that Kyiv has already informed the US side “in detail” of which missiles it needs and by when. “Until there is a result, we need missile supplies from the Americans. They have listened in detail to what we need and by when we need it,” he said, referring to Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Zelensky added that Ukraine is also developing its own programme to defend against ballistic threats, called Freyja, and is counting on US support. Separately, Zelensky reported that work is under way on a possible format for trilateral negotiations, without providing details. According to the Ukrainian president, the necessary steps must first be prepared and only then communicated to the public.
