A few hours earlier, the Pasdaran had claimed to have attacked a US remote-controlled naval drone, adding that it was “attempting to enter the restricted area of the Strait of Hormuz”. The news came the day after the United States announced it had struck Iranian oil tankers in retaliation for Iran’s launch of ballistic missiles at US Navy warships.
