(LaPresse) – The “cyber attacks” are “thousands, they come from all sides and we have a duty, being the ministry with the most offices even outside the national territory, to guarantee the cybersecurity of all our embassies, consulates, Italian cultural institutes, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.” This was stated by Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking at the Cernobbio Forum, recalling that “having wanted to reform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make it more up to date, we have created a general directorate on January 1° of this year that deals only with security, from a political and also operational point of view, so much so that within this general management there is an operations room that deals with countering cyber attacks”. “We are absolutely convinced and have evidence that the attacks are there,” Tajani said, later citing some examples.
