Minneapolis, Sept. 3 (LaPresse) – Two people were killed and, subsequently, the suspect also died in a shooting that took place in an apartment building in downtown Minneapolis, according to police. Five people were injured, including several police officers, two of whom suffered gunshot wounds, police Sergeant Garrett Parten said at a press conference. A 911 call reporting shots fired at the building came in shortly after 4:30 p.m., and officers entered the building three minutes later, finding the victims inside the high-rise, Parten said. They heard more gunshots and followed them to an upper floor, where they found “a haze that significantly limited their visibility,” he said. The FBI is responding and “will offer all necessary resources to assist local authorities,” Director Kash Patel said in a post on the social media platform X.
