(LaPresse) – Following the abrupt halt to negotiations between the two countries, Donald Trump has once again attacked Canada and announced that, “on 1 January 2027, tariffs on all cars, lorries (large and small), car parts and steel will be raised to 50 per cent. If production takes place in the United States, no tariff will apply.” In a post on Truth, the US President states that, “Canada will no longer be treated as a state of the Union! Both in trade and in other respects, it is one of the most difficult nations in the world to deal with. They feel entitled to make demands, yet we do not need Canada: it is they who need us! They conduct 95 per cent of their trade with the United States, whilst for us it is exactly the opposite!”
