Rome, 23 Aug. (LaPresse) – The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, has warned that if the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz were to continue, not a single drop of oil from the Persian Gulf would be allowed to leave the country, by any route. This was reported by the Iranian news agency IRNA. “If the blockade were to continue,” he warned, “we will not allow a single drop of oil from the Persian Gulf to leave the country via any route; furthermore, although we have not yet attacked US economic interests, that option remains open to us should the hostile actions persist.” Regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Rezaei added that “the Strait of Hormuz is closed and will not reopen until the United States changes its behaviour and honours its commitments; they must first take concrete action.”
