Warsaw, Aug. 16 (LaPresse) – The Polish army will soon become “the largest in Europe.” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said this during celebrations for Army Day on Aug. 15. Warsaw has accelerated efforts to strengthen its armed forces since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, bringing the war to NATO’s doorstep. On Aug. 15, Poland demonstrated its growing military power with a large-scale military parade in Warsaw and a naval parade in Gdynia. According to Polish news agency PAP, the procession featured a record 300 armored vehicles and around 2,000 soldiers. “Our army, our armed forces, will soon be the largest in Europe,” Tusk said during a speech at the naval parade in Gdynia.
