U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made this statement while announcing further updates for next week. “We will take measures unlike anything ever seen in the history of economic isolation of a country,” Bessent said in an interview on Newsmax’s ‘Rob Schmitt Tonight’ program. According to the Treasury Secretary, the U.S. strategy will be based on “a combination of economic isolation” and the “continuation of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz,” with the aim of preventing any goods from entering or leaving Iranian ports.
