Turin, 6 August (LaPresse) – Hamas has welcomed the joint statement issued by several countries following a meeting of foreign ministers in Amman, which condemned Israel’s escalation in Gaza, stating that it “highlights the gravity of the escalation and the violations perpetrated by the occupying government, which threaten the future of the entire agreement”. This was reported by Al Jazeera, which noted that on 30 July, Hamas and other Palestinian factions reached an agreement on a document outlining a plan for their disarmament in Gaza, linking this process to the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces. Hamas has urged the signatories, as well as the mediators and Washington, to prevent Israel from “sabotaging the agreement through continued killings, attacks and failure to comply with the obligations imposed by the ceasefire agreement”.
