Los Angeles (California, USA), Aug. 5 (LaPresse) – A man in possession of ammunition and with a handgun in his car was arrested on Sunday at Donald Trump’s golf course in the Los Angeles area. The County Sheriff’s Department said that Jeanine John Taele, 38, was taking photos and recording videos and had a 16-round magazine with ammunition in his pocket. Authorities recovered a loaded handgun from his car. Officers searched his home on Monday in the nearby city of Downey and found a large quantity of firearms, magazines and ammunition, a bulletproof vest and notebooks containing “concerning statements”. The department announced the arrest as Trump was preparing to arrive at the Republican National Committee dinner at the Trump National Golf Course in the suburban area of Rancho Palos Verdes, south of Los Angeles. The department provided no further details on the content of the statements in the notebooks, nor did it clarify whether the man was planning an attack against the president or the event. Taele has been charged with several serious offenses, including second-degree robbery, possession of a high-capacity magazine and possession of a rifle or short-barreled rifle. The man was also charged with illegally carrying a concealed firearm inside a vehicle. Taele pleaded not guilty to all charges and was ordered to stay away from the golf course and not possess weapons. Bail was set at $250,000.
