However, tensions remain high following the recent escalation over control of the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Hossein Kermanpour, posted a message on X, stating that “Iran had a quiet night”, with no reports of attacks. US Central Command did not immediately respond to a request for comment. However, unlike the previous 13 nights, it did not report any new attacks. Air-raid sirens sounded several times in the early hours of Saturday in the Saudi provinces of Yanbu and Jizan, which are home to major oil infrastructure on the Red Sea, according to the Saudi Civil Defence. The alert was due to a “potential threat”, which was later lifted, with no further details provided. Bahrain also issued missile alerts in the early hours of Saturday, but no casualties were reported.
