Bunia (Democratic Republic of the Congo), 22 July (LaPresse) – According to official figures published overnight, at least 999 people have died as a result of the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The latest update from the Congolese Ministry of Health shows that, as of Sunday, 2,473 cases had been recorded in the latest outbreak and 999 people had died. The Bundibugyo virus, which is responsible for the outbreak, has no approved vaccines or treatments.
