Frankfurt (Germany), 18 July (LaPresse) – Iran is ready to take legal action against US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the recent attacks on Iranian territory. This was announced by the spokesperson for the Iranian judiciary, Asghar Jahangir, during a press conference, as reported by IRNA. Jahangir stated that Tehran would pursue “the crimes of the aggressor enemy at both the legal and international levels”, whilst also announcing a claim for compensation for war damages. “Any aggression against any part of the country is an aggression against the whole of Iran,” the spokesperson declared, emphasising that the defence of national unity is one of the “red lines” of the Iranian judiciary. In his address, Jahangir accused the United States of being responsible for decades of hostility towards the Islamic Republic and argued that recent US and Israeli military operations constitute a violation of international law. The Iranian authorities have not provided details of the legal action they intend to take, but have reiterated their determination to hold those responsible for the attacks to account before the relevant international bodies, as well as to seek compensation for the damage suffered.
