Rome, July 16 (LaPresse) – Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has announced that the government has approved a plan worth over 1 billion shekels (approximately $330 million) to build new access roads to settlements in the West Bank and the southern Mevo’ot Arad area. The *Times of Israel* reported the news. “60 million shekels will be allocated to the program in 2026; 340 million in 2027; another 340 million in 2028; and 335 million in 2029,” the minister’s office stated. “We continue to drive a settlement revolution in Judea and Samaria,” he added, using the biblical term for the West Bank. “In addition to approving 104 new communities and 160 agricultural farms, we are also building the infrastructure necessary for their development, strengthening security, and improving the residents’ quality of life. This is a strategic investment in the future of the settlements and the security of the State of Israel,” he concluded.
