Milan, 14 July (LaPresse) – The sixth round of talks between Israel and Lebanon will begin today in Rome and continue tomorrow. This is the first meeting since a framework agreement was signed between the two countries last month in Washington. The talks are expected to focus on the pilot programme under which the Lebanese Armed Forces will enter the southern territories from which the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) are to withdraw, with the aim of ensuring that these areas are free of Hezbollah weapons. This is reported by The Times of Israel. The Israeli ambassador to Washington, Yechiel Leiter, will lead the Israeli delegation.
