This is according to the Kyiv Independent, citing a senior Ukrainian official and a person familiar with the matter. The news comes after Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed her resignation as prime minister yesterday following the announcement of a cabinet reshuffle by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to sources cited by the Kyiv Independent, Zelensky is said to have offered Koretskyi the post of prime minister during a meeting held on 12 July, and he is said to have accepted. The appointment is expected to take place on 16 July, a source in the Ukrainian Parliament told the newspaper. Furthermore, according to a senior official also quoted by the Kyiv Independent, the outgoing Prime Minister Svyrydenko is set to become Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States. A source close to the current ambassador, Olha Stefanishyna, reported that she had decided to step down from her post “at her own request”.
