Frankfurt (Germany), 14 June (LaPresse) – Several key energy infrastructure facilities in the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine, which has been annexed by Russia, have been damaged, and the electricity supply in the region has been partially cut off. This was reported by the region’s governor, Yevhen Balitsky, as reported by Tass. “At present, damage has been recorded to several key energy infrastructure sites, which has led to a partial power cut in the Zaporizhzhia region,” he wrote on Telegram. Balitsky clarified that the emergency services have assessed the extent of the repair work. “Work is underway in some areas, but in others the risk of drone attacks persists,” Balitsky added, explaining that the region’s healthcare facilities have been connected to emergency power sources, “air defence systems are on alert and operational to repel aerial threats”.
