Turin, 27 May (LaPresse) – “We are in favour of embarking on a process that will bring Ukraine into the European Union, but we must not forget that there are other candidate countries. We must not forget the Balkans.” This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani during a press briefing in Limassol, where the informal meeting of EU foreign ministers will take place tomorrow. ‘For us, the priority is the Balkans, although Ukraine and Moldova must embark on a path towards membership; they must also tackle corruption and comply with the rules to become part of the European Union. We are ready to do our part to help them,’ he added.
