Brussels, 22 May (LaPresse) – “We are here to lay the foundations for what I believe will probably be one of the most important leaders’ summits in NATO’s history,” namely the Ankara summit on 7 and 8 July. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the alliance’s foreign ministers’ meeting in Sweden. ‘The President’s views, his disappointment with some of our NATO allies and their reaction to our operations in the Middle East are well documented. These are issues that will need to be addressed. They will not be resolved or addressed today. It is a matter that the leaders will have to discuss,’ added the US Secretary of State.
