Turin, 15 May (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has stated that the first sentence of Iran’s latest proposal was “unacceptable”, claiming that Tehran had backtracked on its position regarding the nuclear programme. “The first sentence was ‘unacceptable’, because they fully agreed not to have nuclear weapons, and if they have nuclear weapons of any kind, I won’t even read the rest,” he said, adding that he was not satisfied with the “level of guarantees from them”. Trump then revealed that Iran had agreed to give up its “nuclear dust” – referring to Tehran’s enriched uranium – but “then they went back on their word”, adding that, in his view, they would eventually agree again. This was reported by CNN.
