Rome, 8 May (LaPresse) – ‘Red Square is less important to us than the lives of the Ukrainian prisoners who can return home. For this reason, today, as part of the negotiation process mediated by the US, we have secured Russia’s agreement for a prisoner-of-war exchange of 1,000 for 1,000.’ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote this on X, also confirming the ceasefire for 9, 10 and 11 May announced by Donald Trump. ‘I thank the President of the United States and his team for their effective diplomatic efforts. We expect the United States to ensure that the agreements are respected by the Russian side,’ added the leader in Kyiv.
