Since the festival began, it has attracted up to 40,000 people, and according to French media reports, 17,000 people are still at the festival, which is being held on military ground deemed dangerous by authorities due to the presence of unexploded ordnance. Teknival, as the rave is called, has been banned by Cher Prefecture. Nuñez first went to Avord for a helicopter reconnaissance flyover of the rave area, then to Bengy-sur-Craon, where a medical station is located, and finally to Baugy, France Info reports. This morning, the Cher department prefecture announced that more than 600 gendarmes are mobilized to monitor and secure the site’s surroundings at 14 checkpoints.
