North Korea: Kim calls South Korea the “most hostile” state

Seoul (South Korea), 24 March (LaPresse) – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has announced that he will consolidate North Korea’s status as a nuclear power ‘irreversibly’, whilst maintaining a hard line towards South Korea, which he has described as the ‘most hostile’ state . According to state media reports, in a speech delivered before the parliament in Pyongyang, Kim accused the United States of “global terrorism and state aggression”, in an apparent reference to the war in the Middle East, and stated that North Korea would play a more decisive role in a united front against Washington, against a backdrop of growing anti-American sentiment. Kim did not, however, explicitly name US President Donald Trump, stating that the choice between confrontation and peaceful coexistence lies with his adversaries, “and we are ready to respond to whatever choice is made”.
