Rome, 4 March (LaPresse/AP) – The US State Department has ordered non-emergency personnel at the consulates in Lahore and Karachi, and their families, to leave Pakistan for security reasons. Embassy staff in the capital Islamabad were not affected by the order. The country shares a long western border with Iran and is home to a large Shia Muslim minority. At least 10 people were killed on Sunday in Karachi after protesters attempted to storm the consulate in Pakistan’s largest city.
