Iran, Tehran to the UN: ‘Decisive response in case of US aggression’

Turin, 20 February (LaPresse) – In a letter addressed to António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, Iran has once again reiterated its intention to attack ‘American bases, facilities and resources in the region’ in the event of ‘military aggression’ by the United States. This was reported by Iran International. The letter, signed by Amir Saeed Iravani, Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, states that although Tehran does not seek war or tension, ‘in the event of military aggression, Iran will respond decisively and proportionately, within the framework of its inherent right to legitimate self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter’.
