France: attack at Arc de Triomphe, terrorism investigation underway

Milan, 13 February (LaPresse) – The French National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office has announced that it is investigating the knife attack at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and has launched a preliminary investigation. The man who threatened several officers with a knife was wounded by a shot fired by one of the police officers at the scene. He was treated by emergency services and taken to hospital in critical condition. No other injuries have been reported. The investigation is ongoing and the police prefect is currently at the scene.
