Ukraine, Zelensky: ‘Thank you to the EU for the 90 billion loan’

Turin, 5 February (LaPresse) – “I would like to thank the Council of the European Union for today’s decision: the legal framework for providing Ukraine with €90 billion in financial assistance for the period 2026-2027 has already been approved. We expect all subsequent steps to be implemented as quickly as possible, as these funds represent our guarantee of financial security.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote this on X. “It is crucial that, in the face of such cowardly Russian attacks on our energy sector, Europe is demonstrating that Ukraine can count on long-term support,” he explained. “This assistance not only strengthens Ukraine in various sectors, but also consolidates our position at the negotiating table. It is a significant contribution to the security of the whole of Europe and our common future,” he added.
