Brussels, Jan. 19 (LaPresse) – Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and Greenland’s Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt, during a meeting held today with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, put forward the proposal of a NATO mission in the Arctic. Poulsen stressed that Rutte is “aware of the difficult situation the Kingdom is facing, but also of the situation NATO is in,” he explained at a press conference reported by Danish media. “We emphasized that we are doing more with regard to the Arctic. And we underlined the importance of NATO focusing more on security in the far north and in the Arctic in general,” he said.
