Iran: Netanyahu says if regime falls, we will return to partnership with Tehran

Milan, 11 January (LaPresse) – Once the Tehran regime falls, Israel and Iran will once again become partners. This is what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers in Israel. The Times of Israel reports. ‘We are sending strength to the heroic and courageous citizens of Iran, and once the regime falls, we will do positive things together for the benefit of both peoples,’ Netanyahu said. He added: ‘We all hope that the Persian nation will soon be freed from the yoke of tyranny’ and ‘when that day comes, Israel and Iran will once again be faithful partners in building a future of prosperity and peace.’ The speech comes as anti-government protests spread across Iran, having begun on 28 December.
