Taiwan, Xi: “Reunification of the motherland is unstoppable”

Rome, Dec. 31 (LaPresse) – Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that the Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait share a bond of blood and kinship. “The reunification of our motherland, a trend of our times, is unstoppable,” Xi declared in his 2026 New Year’s message in Beijing. Regarding Hong Kong and Macau, Xi said that the policy of “one country, two systems” should be firmly implemented and that the two special administrative regions should be supported in better integrating into the country’s overall development and in maintaining long-term prosperity and stability.
