Russia: Kremlin, Putin’s New Year’s message tomorrow at midnight

Milan, 30 December (LaPresse) – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘will, as always, congratulate Russians on the New Year at midnight.’ This was reported by the Russian news agency Tass, noting that Peskov himself had previously told the agency that this year’s speech will be delivered from the Kremlin. Tass points out that the president’s New Year’s speech is usually recorded by the Kremlin but that ‘this tradition has been interrupted several times due to circumstances.’ “In 2022, Putin delivered his speech from the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov-on-Don, surrounded by members of the Southern Military District. And on 31 December 2013, the head of state celebrated New Year’s Eve during a working trip and addressed the Russian people from Khabarovsk, where he met with flood victims,” the agency reports.
