USA: Epstein Files reveal 1996 child pornography complaint ignored by FBI

Rome, 20 Dec. (LaPresse) – Documents released by the US Department of Justice concerning the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein reveal a 1996 complaint of child pornography that was ignored by the FBI. Maria Farmer, who worked for the financier in the 1990s, had urged that he be investigated. In 1996, she filed a complaint about Epstein’s interest in child pornography, about a decade before investigators began looking into his predatory behaviour. The case went nowhere for years, and some investigators even accused her of making up the story. After the publication of thousands of files on Epstein on Friday, the New York Times contacted Farmer, who said tearfully, ‘I’ve waited 30 years,’ ‘I can’t believe it. They can’t call me a liar anymore.’ ‘They should be ashamed,’ she added, referring to the FBI, ‘they hurt all these girls. That part devastates me.’
