France: Carla Bruni concludes five years of breast cancer treatment today

Milan, 20 December (LaPresse) – “Today, Saturday 20 December 2025, I am completing five years of hormone therapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of 2019. Surgery, radiotherapy, hormone therapy: this is the path we must take to treat this type of cancer.” This is what Carla Bruni announced in an Instagram post, publishing a smiling photo with one of the therapy drugs covering her eyes. “Despite its rather aggressive side effects, I am grateful to science for inventing hormone therapy: it effectively protects against relapse, which is common in the years following diagnosis,” says the former première dame. “I want to tell all women in the same situation to hang in there: of course, hormone therapy is a rather heavy treatment, but its effectiveness can save your life.” ‘I would like to say once again to all women reading this post not to hesitate to undergo screening every year, if possible,’ concludes Carla Bruni. ‘Finally, I would like to thank the medical team who took care of me: their expertise and humanity were very valuable to me during this ordeal.’
