Rome, 16 December (LaPresse) – Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said there is currently no evidence that the perpetrators of the Bondi Beach shooting, a father and son, are linked to ISIS or a larger terrorist cell, indicating that the attack appears to have been carried out by the two men acting alone, driven by extremist ideology. Albanese stressed that investigators have found no signs of collusion or organised networks behind the shooting. The attackers have been identified as Sajid Akram, 50, who was shot dead at the scene, and his son Naveed Akram, 24, who remains in a coma in police custody. At least 40 people are still hospitalised, including two police officers in serious but stable condition. The family believed the two had gone fishing at the time of the attack. Authorities have not yet revealed a clear motive and the investigation is ongoing.
