Milan, Dec. 6 (LaPresse) – U.S. envoy to the United Nations Mike Waltz has confirmed that he will visit Israel in the coming days as part of a Middle East trip. In a statement from his office, it was announced that Waltz will travel to Jordan and Israel between December 6 and 10, during which he will emphasize “the United States’ commitment to promoting regional stability, implementing President Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza, and supporting the objectives of UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which outlines the path forward for the region.”
In Israel, Waltz will hold talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog “to promote cooperation between the United States and Israel at the United Nations and discuss common priorities for regional security and humanitarian aid,” the statement said. His itinerary in Israel also includes visits to the Kerem Shalom crossing with Gaza and the Gaza Coordination and Monitoring Mechanism in Kiryat Gat.
In Jordan, Waltz will meet with King Abdullah II and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. The U.S. statement highlights “the monarchy’s crucial role in facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza.” “Ambassador Waltz will also work with humanitarian organizations to assess ongoing efforts to provide life-saving assistance to those in need,” the statement added.
