Milan, 26 November (LaPresse) – ‘Our Office remains clearly focused on the arrest and transfer of Osama Almasri to stand trial before the International Criminal Court for the war crimes and crimes against humanity we believe he committed in Mitiga prison.’ This was stated yesterday by the Deputy Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Nazhat Shameem Khan, speaking to the United Nations Security Council on the situation in Libya. ‘These alleged crimes also include murder, torture, rape and sexual violence,’ Khan added, ‘in recent weeks we have received reports of his possible arrest in Libya and we are seeking confirmation from the Office of the Attorney General.’
