Paris, October 26 (LaPresse) – Two individuals have been arrested by the police as part of the gang that carried out the jewelry theft at the Louvre in Paris last week. Le Parisien reports that the two suspects were arrested on Saturday evening and placed in police custody as part of an investigation into “organized theft” and “criminal conspiracy aimed at committing a crime.” The investigation is being led by the Paris Anti-Bandit Brigade (BRB) and the Central Office for the Fight Against Cultural Goods Trafficking (OCBC). The two men, originally from Seine-Saint-Denis, are suspected of being part of a four-person team that broke into the most famous museum in France. The two were preparing to leave France; one was arrested around 10 PM yesterday at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport as he was about to board a flight to Algeria, while the second was attempting to flee to Mali.
