Chișinău, September 29 (LaPresse) – The pro-European party founded by President Maia Sandu won 44.13% of the vote in Moldova’s parliamentary elections. TASS reported this, citing final data from the Central Election Commission. It was followed by the Patriotic Bloc with 28.25%, the pro-European Alternative bloc (9.22%), Our Party (6.35%), and Democracy in the Homeland (5.72%). Previously, Patriotic Bloc leaders had claimed the opposition’s victory. Former President Igor Dodon, in particular, stated: “The Action and Solidarity Party lost these elections and currently lacks a parliamentary majority, while the opposition won.” This is because the opposition parties, overall, won 49.54%.
