New York (USA), Sept. 23 (LaPresse) – ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ will return to air on ABC Tuesday night, the network announced in a statement.
“Last Wednesday, we decided to suspend production of the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation during such an emotional time for our country,” said a spokesperson for The Walt Disney Company, ABC’s parent company, in a statement to CNN. “It was a decision we made because we felt certain comments were inappropriate and therefore insensitive. We have spent the past few days in thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after these discussions, we decided to resume the show on Tuesday.”
‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ was abruptly and indefinitely suspended last Wednesday after Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr and affiliate networks threatened ABC over comments Kimmel made in a monologue about reactions to Charlie Kirk’s killing.
