(LaPresse) Two Bulgarian police officers were killed while trying to stop a bus containing migrants who entered the country illegally. The incident occurred at 5 a.m. in the Black Sea city of Burgas after the bus refused to stop at two consecutive border police checkpoints. The bus, with Turkish license plates, was carrying 47 migrants whose nationalities were not disclosed. The vehicle had entered a residential area when the police officers stopped their car in front of the road. The bus rear-ended the police vehicle, then ran over it before crashing into a bus stop. The two officers in the car died instantly. No other injuries were reported and an investigation into the case has been opened.
