(LaPresse) Three-year-old Brazilian Siamese twins, born with their heads attached, have been separated after a 27-hour operation. Performing the extraordinary surgery was a team from the Instituto Estadual do Cérebro Paulo Niemeyer in Rio de Janeiro led by the institute’s head of pediatric surgery, Dr. Gabriel Mufarrej, and pediatric surgeon Noor ul Owase Jeelani of Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
