This was reported by a Taliban official, specifying that the quake occurred in the same area where another earthquake last month killed hundreds of people and caused widespread devastation. Abdul Wahid Rayan, director of the Taliban Bakhtar news agency, specified that the quake hit Gayan district in the eastern Paktika province.
