Relief efforts pitifully small
(LaPresse) Thousands of people were left homeless or injured by the powerful earthquake that shook eastern Afghanistan on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. The earthquake killed over a thousand people. The Afghan Red Crescent has distributed packages of food and blankets to a thousand families from its emergency relief center in Gayan, Paktika province.
