Rescue workers have been trying throughout the day to save victims of the disaster

(LaPresse) Ambulances and helicopters reached the site of the railway disaster that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in Iran, in a remote desert area about 50 km from the city of Tabas. A passenger train partially derailed in the eastern part of the country killing at least 17 people and injuring 50 others, according to the toll provided by local authorities. More than a dozen people were seriously injured and were transferred to local hospitals.
