His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle, he was 99.
Prince Philip of England died in London. The consort of Queen Elizabeth II was 99 years old. Buckingham Palace announced this. Philip spent a month in the hospital earlier this year before being discharged on March 16 and returning to Windsor Castle. Philip, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh, married Elizabeth in 1947 and was the longest-lived consort in British history. He retired from public life in 2017. Philip, who would have turned 100 in June, was a member of the Greek royal family. Born on the Greek island of Corfu in 1921, he was a sports enthusiast who loved countryside activities. He had four children, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
