The Moscow City Court converted his suspended sentence of three and a half years into a real jail term
Russian dissident Alexei Navalny was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He appeared at Moscow City Court for a Simonovsky District Court hearing into an application by the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service to convert his suspended sentence of three and a half years into a real jail term.The charge against Navalny is that he violated the terms of probation while he was being treated in Germany after being poisoned. As the 44-year-old has already after ten months under house arrest, he will have to serve 2 years and 8 months in prison.
