Aid group warns around 10 million children are at risk of not having enough food to eat in 2021

The humanitarian organization Save the Children expressed alarm in a statement. Just more than 18 million Afghans, including 9.7 million children, are at risk of not having enough food to eat in 2021.  The organisation said it provided winter survival kits to more than 100,000 families. The kits included fuel and a heater, blankets and winter clothes.

Save the Children also called for $3 billion in donations to pay for assistance in 2021. The United Nations will seek $1.3bn in aid for 18 million Afghans in need this year.

Afghans are in desperate need of urgent support because almost decades-long conflict between the Afghan government and the Taliban.
